The station also features softer, more dance-oriented songs by acts like Depeche Mode, Primal Scream, and The Stone Roses, representing the sounds of early 1990s UK alternative scenes such as synth-rock, Madchester, and neo-psychedelia.

Interestingly, this alternative metal group mainly features acts that would serve influential to nu metal later in the 1990s, a genre that has yet to appear on GTA radios. The alternative metal scene is also on display, from acts such as Helmet, Living Colour, Alice in Chains, Faith No More, and Rage Against The Machine (not on rerelease versions). Also exhibited on the station are major heavy metal and hard rock acts from the late 1980s and early 1990s, like Guns 'n' Roses, Danzig, and Ozzy Osbourne (unavailable on rerelease versions). The most represented genre on the station is undoubtedly grunge, with bands like L7, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, and Stone Temple Pilots all having songs on the station, as well as the grunge energy given off by both the station idents and Sage. The station's tracklist represents many of the contemporary modern/alternative rock sounds that were prominent or emerging in the early 1990s. Its host, Sage, presents herself as an intellectual, nihilist, revolutionist and pessimistic character. But it seems that everyone is an Aston Martin now.Radio X is full of the 1990s grunge attitude and of the Generation X vibe of the time.

"And also Toto said that the cars were the same, the Mercedes and the Aston, because we share 50 per cent of the car or something like that. Red Bull said that the cars were the same, but they are very different.

"To feel competitive again, here, obviously, is a huge relief for the team and this is again an extra motivation for everyone in the factory to keep pushing, because the car seems to perform in any conditions," said Alonso after today's qualifying session. Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has since claimed that Aston Martin's AMR23 is almost identical to the W14 in some ways but Alonso, who will start tomorrow's race in Jeddah from third on the grid, is adamant that they are very different. Fernando Alonso has insisted that Sergio Perez was wrong to joke that 'three Red Bulls' were on the podium at the Bahrain Grand Prix in a suggestion that Aston Martin had copied the defending champions in designing their car.
